Although bullying can be viewed as a complex issue with no simple solution, it is important that both faculty and students understand that there are practical steps that can be taken to resist and reduce issues of bullying within the school environment.

Here are Some Simple Steps to Stopping Bullying
- Recognize and Respond - If you are being bullied: tell them to stop, get away from the situation, and tell a trusted adult.
- Encourage Bystanders to be Upstanders - If you witness someone being bullied, be an upstander: Tell the person to stop, get a trusted adult, reach out and be friends.
- Create Open Dialogue - As a parent: Listen and support your children. Work with the school to be sure your child is safe.
- Create Open Dialogue - In Your School: Learn and help train all adults and youth on how to recognize and respond to bullying.
- Foster an Environment of Safety and Inclusion - With Others Who Care: Start a Not In Our School Anti-bullying Club or Program where youth lead in finding solutions and the faculty supports these solution to make sure the students feel backed in standing against bullying practices
- Educate Your Community - In Your School and the Entire Community: Create an identity-safe climate where all people are respected
